COCAN was born in 2017 from a bold and simple idea — that Egypt deserves world-class leather goods made right here, from start to finish. What started as a passion project with unique wooden bag designs quickly evolved into something far greater: a full-scale leather brand with its own factory, its own process, and its own identity.
We didn't follow a template. We built our own — learning, iterating, and refining at every step. From the first prototype to the first store, every decision was driven by one unwavering belief: that craftsmanship and quality should never be compromised.

A jewelry designer by trade, Mina brings an unparalleled eye for detail and beauty to every bag. She meticulously designs all of COCAN's custom accessories and hardware — the clasps, chains, and embellishments that make each piece unmistakably ours. Her background in fine jewelry means that no detail is too small, no finish too subtle.
Mohamed is the force that keeps COCAN moving forward — leading marketing, operations, and strategy with an instinct for what our community wants next. He ensures the brand is always evolving, always accessible, and always connected to the women who carry COCAN with pride. His vision has taken the brand from one store to four.

We are proudly Made in Egypt — and we mean it completely. Every bag is designed, cut, assembled, and finished in our own Cairo factory. We control every step from A to Z, which means we answer to no one but our own standards.
This isn't outsourced production. This is a living, breathing workshop where our team shapes raw leather into something that will last for years. It's the only way we know how to work.
How We Grew
Mina and Mohamed launch COCAN with a collection of unique wooden bag designs, setting the foundation for what's to come.
The brand transitions from wood to premium leather — opening the door to a much wider range of styles and a more refined aesthetic.
COCAN establishes its own Cairo factory, taking full control of the production process from raw material to finished bag.
COCAN opens its first retail locations in Cairo's top malls — bringing the brand directly to its community.
